Regarding Medicaid Giving children antipsychoic drugs

Starshine started this conversation

whoknew I am not surprised by kids under Medicaid getting antipsychoic drugs more and for less serious ailments. Drug companies are out for money for profit..The older anti anxiety drugs don't work as well anymore so they are combining say prozac with zyperxa. The latter is intended only for more serious conditons than anxiety....So people are drugged more unless someone is there to protect them or their children. If you don't have a brain to question what the heck this is for or someone to speak up for you and ask the questions what are the side effects, long term problems with the drug, and what happens when this child or adult wants to get off the drug?? Then you don't stand a chance in not getting the medicine you don't need.

Whether it is for the above or you are in the hospital for any kind of aliment there is a lot that needs fixing. Doctors should consult with other doctors on a patients care.

I have been in the hospital and emergeny room only to be given things my doctor didn't tell me he ordered a sleeping pill at night. So I had them call him at 10pm or missed my medicine he got called. I learned to take notes what to ask my doctor when he came in. You have to be proactive in your own health and question authority and some doctors..Then emergency rooms, I left one only to be given two different medicines to do the same thing. I had to wait and hunt the doctor down to tell him his mistake and correct it..

And you hear the horror stories of medical mishaps and hear about your friends,or their parents going through it everyday.

There are a lot of problems with medicine period. Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem..

Thank God my main doctor is not for use of antibotics and over use of antibotics or medicine unless absolutely necessary!!!
